When I first started off , all I thought I was responsible for was giving out cutting edge recipes that will not only facilitate fat loss but also make it a worthwhile experience for your taste buds.

Today when I look back I can see how far I’ve come from that limited thought.

From blog posts on the various topics related to health and fitness (which I hope are helping you all at some level or the other 🙂 ) to introducing you to the most cutting edge fitness products out there, its safe to say that I’ve taken upon much more than I initially thought I was signing up for.

And guess what…

I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT 🙂

Fat Burning Diet - Karine Losier But a couple of days ago I started feeling that there was something missing. That there is more that I could offer.

You see…

Getting off your butt and working out or eating right are not the only challenges to a healthy and fit lifestyle.

Sometimes, your other life problems get in your way and dominate you to the point that you are completely unable to tap into your soul and bring out the best in you.

So today I wish to provide an open platform for each and every one of you to post away your problems, challenges, sadness or anything that is holding you down. Share it with me so I can help you get through it.

All you have to do is leave a comment below. I promise you I’ll be here to hear you out and will do my level best to provide you with a solution.

Lets all share, rid ourselves from those old problems and look towards a brighter, happier future.

About the recipes…

There’s no protocol. Dave and I just LOVE cooking.
We constantly experiment with so many different combinations and through trial and error come up with the final recipes that you all see.

We love playing mad scientist in the kitchen 😉

Karine –
I love your recipes. I keep going back to them for something new.

I have an absolutely stress packed schedule.
I am a single mom of a middle schooler who is active in sports and scouts. And being a scholar athelete, I am his private tutor. I also am a professional, full time hospital employee and sometimes put in 80-90 hour work weeks.

Most days, I can squeeze in a 3 mile walk or an hour of laps in the pool.

I am a stress eater and I know it. I know my weaknesses and do all to avoid having them in the house.
I am perimenopausal and undergoing complications of an abnormal gyn exam. Therefore, life is crazy.

That was the woe is me. I love to be physically active. Love to play with my son outdoors and even after 2 knee surgeries for injuries, I hike, walk, bike, swim and now, play frisbee. I think that I need more sleep and need to just cut back on my work hours. Hard to do when you are responsible for students and residents and their education.

Over the last year, I have been more active than in a long time. My relationship woes are settling down and I have reintroduced God into my day.

With that, I need to help my son get his stuff ready for tomorrow.

Hi Lydia,

Before anything else I would like to applaud you for the amazing person you are.

Not many can keep up with what you do on a daily basis and for that you have earned my respect.

You are a stress eater and I can see exactly why.
Handling your son,house chores and 80-90 hour weeks. My goodness!

But Lydia, don’t let yourself think that food has power over you. Most stress eaters feel that way.
Think of it this way. If you have to be this supermom who has to do everything, shouldn’t you be eating things that make you healthier, stronger and more capable of doing what you must do.

Judging by how hard working a woman you are, I am sure that you can take the battle to it head on.
The best you can do is to surround yourself at home with healthy food choices. That way, when you are hungry, you have an assortment of healthy and nutritious food to choose from rather than harmful stuff that will inevitably add on the breakdown that your body is already being subjected to.

As for your job, I’m not sure if you work that much out of need or out of want/desire.

If its the former then I suggest you do try your level best to get as much sleep as you can otherwise and try to keep at your hour-a-day exercise routine. You honestly don’t need more than that. But just make sure you’re switching it up. 3 days of weight training, 2 days of laps in the pool, maybe a day of brisk walking to relax yourself and then one day of complete rest.

If however its the latter then I invite you to think that NO amount of money is worth it if its at the expense of your health, peace of mind and happiness. It may seem like just a couple of extra hours in the week but over the long run, it can lead to some serious consequences. The key to life is BALANCE.

Karine: I love your posts, I am so frustrated I lost 150 pounds I am 200 pounds at 5’10, wearing a size 12 I work out 6 days a week, got a new trainer, keep a food diary, I was diagnosed with a metabolic syndrome even with working out and all the weight loss, I cannot get below 200 pounds!!!! I think how could I have lost so much, I am very carb sensitive it is so frustrating, I am 44, I quit smoking too, this was a complete overall of my lifestyle the last 2 years. In some ways I guess maybe I need to accept myself, and I am thankful, but I think darn why cant I lose more weight, I go up and down the same 10 pounds but have been maintaining for almost a good 8 months now. I lost the weight following a low carb diet and exercising. Any suggestions are welcome. I read every post you make, and I have Dave’s annabolic cookbook as well as my husband is one of those skinny guys that tries to bulk up and he struggles with that as much as I do with losing!

Amber I can completely relate to your frustrations of the numbers not dropping. I am currently at 209lbs down from 268lbs but that has taken me 12years to achieve. Even with clean eating for the past 5 years, and working out 3-5 days/ week, I average a loss of about 5lbs/year in total with much fluxuation going on.

I have turned my focus towards how I feel! I feel so much stronger, healthier, more energized, and give myself credit for the work I have done so far. There is this older lady at my gym that is constantly lifting my spirits up and encouraging me to continue forward on my journey…recognizing my accomplishments even if I can’t see them myself. I have learned to enjoy the journey!

Yesterday as we chatted at the water cooler between sets she mentioned that I looked great. I thanked her and mentioned that finally the numbers were starting to slowly drop again. She then shared with me that she was so focued on the number when she was on her journey, she did eventually make it to her goal and then was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She is a survivor, since she never wanted to feel so weak again she has been determined to continue to workout, not for an end goal but to feel strong, This woman has told me I inspire here, but she has also inspired me so many times just when I needed it. I hope this story inspires you too!

Hi Amber,

First and foremost I want you to believe.
Believe that you CAN get under 200 pounds and you WILL.

I’m going to touch upon a few things that I think will help you reach your goal.

What does your workout comprise of?
Is it only cardio or are you weight training as well?

Note that weight training is CRUCIAL as it helps you burn fat throughout the day as it forces the body to burn more energy to repair the broken down muscle fibers. If you’re new to weight training, start off slow but if you’re already doing it and that too for quite a while, you may need to switch up the intensity and lift heavier.

As for cardio,
Make sure you’re doing this too. Cardio is seen to be therapeutic for people with metabolic syndrome.
But don’t overdo it. An hour of cardio for 3 days a week is good enough. Make sure though that eventually you are increasing the intensity of the workout.

Low carb dieting is the best option for metabolic syndrome. Due to extremely poor insulin sensitivity, it is very hard for you to eat carbs and “get away with it”. So I suggest you keep at that. Make sure that you are eating enough protein and adequate amounts of healthy fats. Remember, cut drastically on carbs but not too much on calories. Don’t let your caloric deficit exceed 500 calories.

As you lose fat it eventually becomes more difficult to lose more and you get stuck. This is natural.
In order to get over this be sure you are:
1) Recalculating your caloric requirements when you see yourself hitting a fat loss plateau.
2) Not creating too big a caloric deficit.
3) Eating lot of protein and adequate healthy fats.

You are not yet at the point where you need refeeds/cheat days yet so as tempting as that idea sounds, don’t go for it now. Eventually, we’ll have to incorporate those.

I Love working out but due to being a women every 28 days, my workouts come to a halt. It’s not because I want them to but because I physically cannot workout during those times. I get horrible cramps and nauseousness that effects my whole body. This normally last five days, with the first three days the worst and then the last two the symptoms are on and off depending on the hours. Since I have been cutting down on a lot of sugar in my diet the cramps have not been as bad, but no matter what I do the nauseousness does not go away. To control it I drink green tea with ginger, and use ginger pills in the morning and before bed and throughout the day I use ginger candy. My acupuncturist has put me on herbal treatments before but right now he has me off. But it just upsets me when I cannot work out, because working out and completing my workout makes me feel really powerful.

I am still working on fixing my diet, I know its not perfect, but it is hard when I use to never eat veggies at all. I have come a long way, but it is still a long road ahead starting to like more food. And being a stressed college student does not help much most days.

Don’t worry about it too much. If you’re working out hard the other days, those few days shouldn’t matter much. Your body would actually do better with the additional rest. So don’t sweat it 🙂

And you certainly don’t need treatment for it. Relax girl!

I have NO trouble getting to the gym, in fact it’s a great stress reliever and though I prefer training in the morning, getting a weight-session in after a frustrating day at work is a way to make me a safer driver on the way home!

My problems are in fact all imputable to one thing: finance. Most jobs seem to be part-time, paid as low as possible (full time means the employer has to pay benefits, and they don’t want to – frankly, I don’t care about that, I just need enough income in dollars and cents).

The result of low finances are mainly two: nutrition and stress.

Stress – I can get some worked off in the gym, yes.
Nutrition – though meals cooked from scratch are cheaper than ready-to-heat stuff, and 99% of our meals are home made, it’s cheaper to buy bulk macaroni and rice, than veggies. I try to get as little starch as I can and as much greenery as possible, as well as protein with each meal – and WalMart is good for reasonable meat – I also know my meals aren’t optimal.

“If we could just win 10K >>>” (obviously, more would be better – 50K we’d be out of debt, 110K we could buy the house we want, anything over would be financial comfort) …

I know my focus isn’t where it should be, because there is just too much other in the way.

I totally understand your situation and I bet its one that many can relate to in today’s economy.

Here are a few things I suggest:

Nothing is as potent a stress buster as exercise and I’m glad to see you understand that.
But also make sure you’re getting in enough sleep. That is the solution to most of our health related problems.

As for food, don’t stress over it so much. Just be sure that you are avoiding any and all kinds of junk food and eating only those things that offer some sort of benefit to your body.

Hi Karine!

This is really great of you to do something like this. I know it’s hard for a lot of people to admit their problems our tough situations, at least four me it is, but here we go…

I’ve been working out consistently and seriously with clean eating habits for about 2 years now. I’ve come along way dropping from 230lbs 30% body fat to 170lbs 10% bf. Since then I’ve gained 10lbs of muscle. I see a big change, but what I don’t see are the results I want. Muscles still aren’t popping out and I just look like a regular guy who gained some size. With the work I put in I should be looking like “that muscular guy.” Very irritating also a moral killer almost to a point where I’m thinking it’s impossible…

Not so much an expert for Muscle gain especially for guys but I’ll try my best 😉

With muscle building, the most important thing you need is patience.
Unless you are using questionable substances (which most of the “that muscular guy” kind of people do), muscle gain comes VERY slow. That’s just the way it is.

If you’re into this for just 2 years then I’d say your definitely on the right track. Just keep at it and over time you will get bigger 🙂

Karine, thank you for this as well as your blog and wonderful recipes! I need to use them more often because everything I’ve made to this point has been great.. I am admittedly a really poor planner when it comes to meals, and eating in general. I’ve been very consistent with exercise for 3 years now. I never thought I’d get to a point where I want to exercise, but I am truly there- woohoo! What frustrates me is that I sabotage some of my workout efforts with my eating. I don’t know why I continue to do this. I feel like I have a good store of knowledge to eat well and eat healthy, yet I simply don’t do it with any consistency. I need to take control. I feel like once I ‘fall off the wagon’ with food, I fall hard and then I lay in that rut. It feels like a mental tug-of-war. I tired of it, but apparently not enough to be legit about making necessary changes with any consistency to this point.

My advice is for you to stop letting food have power over you.
You always have the choice and the best thing that will help you make the right choice is the whole “What do I want more” idea.

What do you want more?
To eat some crappy junk food that does you no good and makes you feel guilty and miserable after having it?
Or eating healthy,delicious, nutritious food that builds you, makes you stronger, keeps you clean and gives you great results that keep you satisfied for good.

Think about that every time the choice comes in front of you and I’m sure you’ll make the right one 🙂

hi….well….I started the Paleo diet because my son has lost 77 pounds on it (without exercising) and feels wonderful! I have been on it since July and have lost …3..4…2…3…4…5…2…3… lbs….meaning I haven’t lost anything! AND I exercise a lot! so what gives and what do you think qbout this???

Boys have all the luck don’t they? lol

He’s a young male. Naturally his metabolism is going to be MUCH greater than yours.

Paleo or not, if you are not eating lesser calories than you need for maintenance, you will not lose weight. Even if you eat the cleanest of foods.

So I suggest you calculate your caloric requirements and then eat maybe 200-300 calories lesser than that. Do that along with regular exercise and there is no reason why you shouldn’t lose fat 🙂

I bought both books anabolic n metabolic cause they r amazing But i have two problems
First i live in a different country were some of ur ingredient is hard to find either because the language is different or im not understanding it well.
such as Worcestershire, macadamia oil, sage, (((oregano))), etc
I Google it, translate it and even seeing its own pic but unfortunately still not find it.
the second problem is my mom always carious n against my meal plan
facing this from anybody is ok…
but from my mom is quite difficult :'(
I’ve been struggling for a year hope u help me up please

You many not always find the ingredients that we suggest.
The best thing you can do then is to go online and find alternatives to that.
Anything that is similar to the one’s we’ve mentioned.

About Mom not supporting…
It happens. But at the end of the day she’s your mom and is probably just concerned that you are picking on some kind of fad 🙂

Be true to your diet and training and show her the results. This will show her that you are a responsible young man working hard to a POSITIVE goal unlike the countless others who are out there picking up bad habits.

Karin: Ever since I had a stomach problem 6 weeks ago, I cannot eat more than 2 meals a day and very little at that. I have tried everything and I am now down to 128 from a 146. The Doctor can’t find anything wrong. My son bought me an in-between meals drink that should help me. HA! I have no appetite even though I try to drink 2 hours after meals. Now what do I do to bolster my appetite? My Doctor says to eat 6 meals a day. I am doing the next-to-impossible by adding the protein drinks to the low diet that I now enjoy (?) which is 2 meals a day.. I am the opposite of many of the writers to you. I am doing good just to drink one of the drinks between meals.

From what I see, it looks like symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
But if it was that, your doctor would have pointed it out.

You could also be having these problems because of eating some foods that you are intolerant of.

Are you lactose intolerant? Avoid all dairy and dairy products.
Are you gluten intolerant? Avoid wheat and all wheat products.

If 2 meals a day and a couple of shakes is working for you then you can continue with it.
But I don’t think it will be possible for you to maintain higher bodyweight if you do it this way.

Hi Karine, the first time I laid eyes on you I fell in love. My girlfriend is so beautiful, but, she became jealous of my adoration of you. She used to have a body that killed, not so much anymore. I know love is not a physical thing, but it helps. She was so mad that she bought your product, and WOW, we are now back to our old love making ways. I don’t care what anyone says, a beautiful body is worth looking at. I keep myself in shape and always look at our web page. Your husband is awesome, I hope you too, have a great love life. Hi Karine..im going pretty good…i blew out to 136kgs and im 6’6 tall…this year ive really trained hard and in the last few months been really strict with my food and i got down to 130 now back up to 132…The thing im struggling with is weekends….im a bad binge drinker….i wont drink anything during the week but come the weekend i have friends around and have a bbq and end up drinking to much…………Im loving the food im eating these days and never want to go back to eating anything that isnt fresh and have got right into Funk Roberts body weight high intencity type workouts but i know my results are being fucked up by the parties,im stuffing up my metabolism arent i………..i do feel great and my measurements are much better….i dont know if i really want to stop having the fun i do on the weekend either…im just thinking is it unrealistic to think that im never going to party again…..if i train hard,eat well but have a few on the weekend is that bad?….problem is i know what your going say ahahahaha….thanks for the recipes they are great xo

Hi Karine! I LOVE your recipes – and you’re a wonderful inspiration for strong fit women (or those aspiring to be such)!

I currently am looking to rid my family of foods with GMO ingredients. [Easier said than done!]

One of the first places I looked was my cabinet filled with protein powders, recovery shakes and other nutritional supplements. Sad to say, all of them have GMO ingredients. (Even my pro/grade products that CLAIM TO BE NON-GMO on their website!) It’s so frustrating.

Can you recommend any non-GMO protein powders or a good non-GMO recovery drink?

Karine! I love your emails, recipes, and workouts. it’s such an inspiration.
I suppose my case is considered unique: I am currently a college freshman, weighing 143lbs at 5’4″. Two years ago, I suffered from anorexia, weighing about 100lbs. I was also a gymnast for sixteen years, just quitting in February. I am extremely active- I run about 3.4 miles four days a week, weight lift six days a week, and rock climb every day for at least an hour. I obviously have muscle, which makes up most of my weight, but I really struggle with nutrition. After overcoming the eating disorder, it seems as if my eating is completely out of control! I have a few consistent, healthy weeks, and then BAM I go off the handle and loose all my discipline. I have no idea what to do. Being this heavy at my size is uncomfortable for me, and I’m extremely unhappy, but I don’t know how to help myself. I’m torn between eating healthy and a fear of developing another eating disorder. That’s how my anorexia came to be: I had an obsession with eating healthy, which turned into not eating at all. If you have any suggestions, I would be very happy to hear it.

Thinking about what food choices you make is great.
Thinking about it all the time and stressing over it is not.

Just take it easy and you should find it MUCH easier to stay true to your diet 🙂

I love your recepies! I had to say that right off.
But now for the problem. I have a severe sugar addiction. I was doing very well for about a year, eating lots of vegetables and eating lean meats one or two meals each day. If I wanted sweet, I would have a piece of fruit with raw almond butter or a protein shake.
I was working out 5 to 6 days a week. I was feeling good; hormones balanced, thyroid under control, sugar cravings under control and I only needed to lose 7 more pounds of fat.
Then, all of this wonderful work went by the wayside when things at work took a turn and I no longer had time or money to keep my trainer ( I have fibromyalgia and need a special trainer to help me not to hurt myself when weight training as different parts of my body hurt at different times and I cannot always do the same exercises most people do).
I thought I could do my exercise at home. My daughter procured an eliptical for me and I have some exercise vids to help. I know what food I am supposed to eat and mostly do.
Then I started being bad. At first I said to myself that it was ok once in a while. Then it became everyday. Now it’s twice a day! And I hide it! My husband tries very hard to fix me healthy meals and I sabbotage it by having a sundae or slice of cake or 25 donut holes or half a pie !! I can’t seem to control it. Every day I tell myself that I will be good today. Then I have a milkshake. Then I say, ok, so you messed up, now don’t have anymore. Then I eat 1000 calories of chocolate!!
Do you have any suggestion? So far, I have only been on my eliptical 2 to 3 times a week because I can’t find time to get back on a schedule.
I have lost 6 pounds of muscle and gained 10 pounds of fat which looks ok on a scale but definitely is going backwards. I was 137 now 142 at 5’4.5″ and 51 years old.

I understand where you’re coming from and have seen this with many women.

The main thing you need to focus on is to try and take “baby” steps to bring it back in
Counting how many times you cheat in a week and then make sure to bring that number down.

Little by little, inch by inch, you’ll get there 🙂

July 2009 rushed to hospital with septic poisoning as a result of stepping on a rusty nail.
Died in the ER Resuscitated but told I would never walk again.
This was unacceptable to me so I researched about diet,exercise and Vita nutrients
Today I’m walking with the aid of a walker, using RKS Kettlebell and Les Mills Pump and
with my Beachbody coach.

I opened a store front a year and a half ago and the stress and time that it demands is costing me in pounds. I feel tired all the time and I have very limited time to do much of anything outside of running the business. I have started to develop arthritis in my hips and knees because of this work, I already have arthritis in my neck. I really need to figure something out here, starting to feel desperate.

We all feel that way. That we just don’t have the time.

For the short term, its easy to ignore other aspects of your life and focus only on work.

But think about this…
How long do you think you’ll go on like that before something bad happens?

Your health and fitness directly co-relates to the way you feel, how good you perform and how long you can perform at your best.

If you ignore it, you may be able to spend an extra few hours on your business.
BUT…
Eventually you’ll experience problems and you already have (arthritis) . Do you know how much harder it will get for you to do your work because of it? Dealing with the pain, restrictions in movement, constantly depending on medications and so on…

And it doesn’t just end there.
The time and money you waste with countless hospital visits.
Kind of negates or even surpasses that little extra time or money you save for your business don’t you think?

Always remember that the key to life is BALANCE.
If you don’t have that, you are bound to face problems eventually in your life. Problems that may just be too much to handle.

Think about what I said and it should give you a better perspective at how you should proceed from here on out.

I love your program’s whole concept, I ordered it quite a while back. However, I must say i haven’t implemented it. Like you said above

For the last 2 yrs I have been a caregiver for my 90 y.o. Mother, 70 y.o. diabetic sister, and 66 y.o. Husband recovering from esophageal cancer the last 8 years. Plus, I am as active as I can be in the Christian Ministry.
My mom and husband love sweets and breads, fried foods (not into fruits & veggies)so to keep peace I keep some in the house, but it is murder on my sugar cravings.

I am 56 y.o., have for the past 3 years tried to straighten up hormones- progesterone,testosterone and thyroid (hashimoto’s) . I am gluten sensitive, lactose intolerant, IBS, no gall bladder. Had lost 55lbs, kept off for a little over a year. from 215 down to 170. Fifteen lost w/ a powder food program, then the rest by Hcg shots.
Hormones seem to be coming into line, thank goodness. But I’ve run out of steam big time, lately. In the past 2 months I have gained back about 10-12 lbs and am worried about becoming a diabetic, if I downstate healthy, who will take care of my family? I now weigh between 175-180 lbs. I really don’t want to go back to hcg…But it’s the least complicated in my complicated life.

I’m not sure I have enough emotional energy to give to another weight loss program. ( I’ve been on diets since age 12 @ 120lbs). But if I do bounce back, I’d like to give your program a go. Oh, by the way, I did try the Athletic Greens (while off the hcg diet), and think I was allergic to something in it, it just didn’t work well w/ me (kept getting sore throat)Is there something else you could suggest?

I just would like an eating routine that isn’t complicated. Because, altho’ I try to feed everyone healthy…the family is set in they’re ways about what they eat (except my sis) and it’s a constant uphill battle to eat the way that brings out the best in me. I don’t expect you to solve anything- I just needed someone to know I am trying but I’m really tired of “fighting to be healthy and fit”. Thanks for lending an ear!

First of all, I want to congratulate her on your achievements thus far and the world needs more of people like you.

The truth is, life can get that way sometimes. Nothing we can do about that.
All we can do is try to move forward step by step.

Regarding allergies or intolerances, you need to consult a local physician and get their advice.

You seem like a really nice and caring person, but someone who still deserves a little for themselves..so I hope you take some time and make time for yourself once in a while to stay a bit more on track with your diet and the rest will follow.

Karine –
I love reading your newsletters, the new information, recipes, and so much more is always a continuous motivator. However, being visually and hearing impaired my life is less than perfect. I try to look at the brght side of things always. Having a lot more self-esteem would really help wiht that. I fluctuate in the 150s, the highest ever being 159 and the lowest being 150. I am in university and the busy hours conflicts with my helthy eating. For example, I do not have access to a fridge for 8-10 hours during the day, I eat breakfast, leave home at 8 with a healhty lunch and then for supper I usually have a cheese/veggie sandwich since protein can’t/shouldn’t stay in a bag for that long without proper handling. Any advice? I try to read labels as best I can, even thats a challenge on occasion and I usually just stick to veggies and protein. My goal is to be 130 lbs of lean muscle. I do some kind of activity every day, whether that be cardio or squats and pushups. Please help! Any advice????

Julianna, Some suggestions for lunch would be to freeze your meat so it thaws just in time for dinner, and/or use an icepack in a cooler bag style lunch tote. Canned tuna is also a great source of protein, as is dehydrated meat (eg. Jerky), or protein shakes/bars/baked goods which are transportable and require no refridgeration. I love making homemade protein bars or muffins. Google for a recipes that uses eggs white as the base and protein powder. Good luck and stay strong!

I recently had a baby and I am breast feeding. Everyone says that when you are breast feeding you need to keep your calories up. I have heard advice from some that say because of how overweight I am that I could benefit from an IF diet. How can I lose weight healthily and yet as quickly as possible and be in a calorie deficient while breast feeding?

If you’re lactating then you should try and stay away from any extreme diets. IF is one.

Yes.You need to feed yourself good amount calories when you’re breast feeding.
But the focus should be more on the QUALITY of the calories and not the Quantity.

You don’t need to be in a caloric surplus to get your required nutrients.
Just be sure you’re consuming enough lean protein and GOOD fats.
They are crucial for optimal health. Also, be sure to get your veggies for your micro-nutrients.

Finally, if you want to be in a deficit and would like to lose weight, cut down on your carbs.
Physiologically, the body doesn’t NEED carbs to function so if you’re cutting down on something…it should be this.

Just make sure you keep the caloric deficit short and progressively reduce it by small margins after every 2-3 weeks.

That should do the trick 🙂

You are sooo young! Enjoy being young and the perks that come with all that wonderful energy you have. It sounds like you may be a bit bored which is why you want to be in a relationship right now. If you keep busy doing things you enjoy, you will find a good healthy relationship easily by making the right friends.

If you have time, find a place you can donate some of your energies like a hospital or library or school. Find something you are good at that you can share with others and you will naturally start associating with people that have similar interests. Look up volunteering (Google) in your area and see if you can find a match!

Around my area there are singles groups that go on adventures. Maybe there is something like that where you live?Google singles groups in your area.

is that true because from what i have read its very nutritious and contains the essentials fats to keep belly fat away 🙂

“Yup! The yolks are really good and people who throw them away are missing out on so much.

Its not just fighting belly fat.
The Cholesterol in egg promotes good cholesterol in the body.
Not to mention, the yolk contains most of the amino acids as well as enzymes needed to digest egg protein. Protein in the whole egg has a biological value (a quality marker) of 100 whereas egg whites has a BV of just 77. BIG difference.

The only thing is that egg yolks are calorie dense so you need to not eat too many as they can easily make you overconsume calories.”

Hi, Thank you for wanting to do this, and also for all your advice in keeping fit and healthy.
I have been a care giver for 10 years and always worked out to keep the stress off. Being 60 has taken the toll on me. I seem to have my weight shifted around my belly and spare tires. Also on my face, gravity shows. I also have no self esteem since loosing my husband, looking at the mirror don’t like what I see. I am doing all the meals in metabolic cooking and protein powders. Could please help me in getting back my confidence and doing the right thing for building and keeping muscles and challenge gravity.

The best way to keep muscles and “challenge gravity” is to incorporate regular progressive weight training to your routine.

Many don’t know this but weight training is actually the perfect anti-aging tool.
What is aging? Breakdown,catabolism, loss of muscle.
What do you do to prevent that? Lift weights.

Its great that you’re following the recipes in Metabolic Cooking but you also need to be sure to eat within your caloric limits.
Even if your eating the healthiest of food, if you’re overconsuming calories you will put on weight.
So keep this in mind.

And as for confidence…It will come.
Work hard on your health and your body and you will automatically see how you feel more energetic,vibrant and confident.
