Ever feel slighlty tempted or crave something bad you just know you shouldn’t have? You are not alone 🙂
Cravings are one of the top diet killers out there as more and more people find themselves battling these on a daily basis.
It only make sense that you will have some cravings when starting a fat loss diet as you are going to be removing some of the foods that you’ve partially become ‘addicted’ to in a sense.
Fortunately, if you know a few key tricks, you can fight back against cravings so that this isn’t an issue in your life.
Let’s look at how you can avoid this nasty diet issue so that you can carry on to success.
How To Avoid Food Cravings
The first thing you need to do is equip yourself with a number of techniques that you can use to fend off food cravings. One of the first things you should consider is getting out of the house.
If you often eat when at home, alone, and bored, get out of that kitchen as fast as you can. If you aren’t around the food that’s causing the cravings, chances are you won’t be thinking of it and the craving won’t happen.
A second quick technique is to use the 10 minute water rule.
Often a food craving is no more than thirst in disguise, so make a deal with yourself.
Drink one tall glass of water, wait ten minutes, and if that food craving is still there, then you can eat.
Another way to avoid food cravings is to find foods that you enjoy to include in your diet.
If your diet fare isn’t what you’d call ‘tasty’ and you feel incredibly deprived, of course you’re going to have food cravings.
But if you do actually enjoy what you’re eating on your diet plan, then your taste buds will be satisfied and you’ll find that you just don’t need those foods that you used to crave any longer.
Finding an enjoyable diet plan is one of the absolute best ways to face food cravings head on.

What Foods Naturally Reduce Cravings
It’s also important that you learn what foods reduce cravings naturally.
Lean proteins will help to control food cravings because they stabilize blood glucose levels best.
When you suffer from blood sugar highs and lows, as that low hits, that’s when you’re far more likely to suffer from food cravings, especially since you’re looking for simple carbs.
Keep your blood sugar on an even keel and those cravings will easily go away.
Peppermint also tends to cure food cravings as do spicy foods such as red hot chilli peppers, so you may want to consider adding those to your diet as well.
How To Control Evening Nibbling
Finally, if evening nibbling has got you down, then you definitely need to find a way to combat this.
Consider chewing some gum while you watch TV late at night. It’ll keep your mouth busy so that you can’t put food inside.
Other people like to brush their teeth after their dinner meal as to them this signifies the end of the meal and keeps them from eating more food.
Finally, if you simply can’t resist food before bed, plan for a snack. As long as you choose wisely and integrate it into your total daily calorie intake, there’s no reason to go to bed hungry. Just don’t let yourself get out of control on a junk food binge or that will impact your body weight.
I personally like snacking on raw veggies like baby carrots, bell peppers, or even mushrooms!
So there you have the need-to-know tips for controlling food cravings. Use these and those cravings will be a thing of the past.
